Daniel Schutzsmith
Partner, Creative Technology Director
Daniel is a rare breed – a hybrid of equal parts business, design, programming, and strategy – ready to change the world. He’s a professor at the School of Visual Arts, a writer on digital strategy for nonprofits with a book scheduled to launch in late 2014, a speaker at several design conferences across North America, and an all around web design nerd. Over the past decade he has worked with clients such as: 1% For The Planet, Adobe, BBDO, CosmoGIRL!, Dave Matthews Band, Google, Greenpeace, Live Earth, MTV, PBS, Phish, Rachael Ray, Sony Picture Classics, TBS, The Pixies, VH1, and XM Radio. In his free time he enjoys inspirational wanderings through the streets of NYC, single malt scotches, and evenings at the drive-in around the corner from his house in rural upstate NY.
Clay Walter
Director of Production
Clay is a creative marketing whiz driven by a passion for creativity and technology. Skilled in people-centric community building and online marketing strategy, he leads the helm of every project by keeping them running smoothly and, most importantly, on-time. In short, he’s a people person that gets stuff done! His choice of tools for project management include TeamGannt, SlickPlan, Trello, and straight up email or phone calls. He’s held management positions at a few high profile marketing firms from New York City to Albany. His idea of an awesome day away from the office is 4 hours of Brazilian Jujitsu training, followed by some beers with friends, and then quality time with his girlfriend Ashley and Sammy - his cat of 17 years.
Cole Lichwick
Nonprofit Strategist
Cole is a fundraising firecracker of knowledge wrapped in a neat bow. Cole relishes the opportunity to immerse herself in the tiny little particulars that make fundraising special. Before joining Mark & Phil she held several director positions in organizations such as The Junior League of Poughkeepsie and Women's Jewelry Association of America. Prior to her career in the non-profit world, she worked in the funeral industry where she unknowingly honed this expertise. Each funeral is really an event of its own: where every detail is significant, where the deadlines (no pun intended)are very real, and where the lead time is often quite short. When not working, Cole enjoys spending time with her husband, their two "dog"-ters and a good book.
Mia Hodgins
Fundraising Strategist
Mia is an experienced fundraiser who has a flare for grant writing/management. She has a passion for helping the underdog and empowering them to succeed. Her expertise in grant writing, research, and management has helped her secure funding for various non-profit organizations throughout New York State. Mia has raised funds from federal, state, corporate and foundation grants like the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, John. F. Wegman Fund, New York State Health Foundation, Marie & Joseph Wilson Foundation, Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation, and HUD.
