Content Management Systems (CMS) and Constituent Relationship Managers (CRM) are necessary for causes to keep their website content fresh and keep tabs on their list of supporters respectively. We've helped our clients setup CMS' using open-source systems like Wordpress, Drupal, Expression Engine, Tumblr and Wordpress. After long and exhausting research of CRM's specifically catered towards non-profits, we've been most impressed by Nation Builder, Salsa, and CiviCRM.
Analytics
Keeping track of the progress of a marketing or fundraising campaign is key to establishing its effectiveness and defining its success. With every web project we take on, we always install the free analytics reporting tools by default such as Google Analytics, Wordpress Stats, Drupal Stats and such. We're also very excited about new link tracking methods being used in social media through services like HootSuite and Bit.ly. We even made our own!
